Imaginary Facade

IMAGINARY FAÇADE is about a college student; Gordon Ransey, who makes the decision that he will major in Theatre Arts. The only problem, though, is the only acting he has ever done was in a high school one-act play. What Gordon doesn’t realize, however, is how gifted he is at acting, quickly impressing the college professors. He meets a young girl named Natalie DuBree, who has an incredible singing voice, and they quickly become a couple. Unfortunately, as beautiful as her voice is, she possesses no acting talent at all. Regardless, she is still able to capture the audience with her amazing singing voice. When Gordon casts Margrett Osborn, a well-regarded actress in the one-act student-play he’s directing, he discovers how incredible her acting ability really is; far beyond his or anyone else’s. Natalie DuBree ultimately backs away from Gordon’s attempts to teach her how to do dramatic roles; something she told him she wanted to do. She returns to doing musicals, and slowly drifts away from Gordon. Gordon and Margrett end up acting together in their final college play. They then perform in New York, winning the collegiate grand prize. Their performance is witnessed by a movie producer, and their motion picture careers take off. Gordon ultimately migrates into directing films. Margrett, however, continues with roles that captures the audiences, winning her multiple Oscars over the years. Their incredible longevity in the world of motion pictures become a benchmark of excellence that the viewing public thoroughly enjoys.
