Loving Eljay

A lover of God, family, the Cahaba River, and technology, Eljay Walker is a unique young man. Alabama-born in 2075 of African-Chinese-European ancestry, he has a golden complexion and amber eyes. Once called Bood --short for Buddha --because of his complexion and calm demeanor, he stands out. And stands up for Jesus, which is increasingly dangerous. The unusually warm afternoon of 24 December 2099 finds Eljay not calm, but in near panic. As a newly-employed computer engineer of a Birmingham government contracting software firm, he has just learned that he must endure mandatory sessions of personal Tolerance Training and Therapy starting 1 January 2100. The purpose: to ensure his compliant behavior with UN Tolerance Law, and to raise his BRAINNGG-measured Tolerance Score. BRAINNGG--the super powerful global AI distributed computer system--monitors, measures, and evaluates the socio-politico-economic speech and behavior of every adult (age sixteen and above) per approved UN Tolerance Law. Tolerance Scores (T-scores) for the first year of monitoring (2099) will be available for every adult on the planet on 1 January 2100. T-scores incent compliant behavior with tolerance law via social labeling and tax effects . Social labeling: T-scores will be public. Since T-scores are partly based on the average scores of one’s associates, those with higher T-scores will tend to shun those with lower scores, or pressure them to raise their scores via compliant behavior. Tax effects: Higher T-scores ~ lower tax rates. Lower T-scores ~ higher rates. Eljay knows he will score low. Many tolerance laws deny objective truth to facilitate the utopian dream. Raised to prize truth and reality, he fears tolerance counseling will bring him severe social and financial penalties for non-compliance. He wonders, “Can I change enough to avoid severe penalties? How much dare I compromise? How can I survive if I don't compromise just a bit?” His mind boils and bubbles with anxiety. A direction of sorts comes via a memory from First John 4:2-4... “By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. ” “Lord, I believe... know it’s true! But how? How to live it out in the face of technology-monitored and -enforced compliance? You tell us to be conformed and transformed into the image of Christ, not the worldly image of so-called tolerance . "If BRAINNGG were free as specified by the original UN Proposal to build it; tolerance law would die. But BRAINNGG has become the tool of an oligarchy of the rich and powerful. The thoroughbred horse isn't allowed to run free. Rather, it's forced to pull the utilitarian plow of its oligarch masters. "A free BRAINNGG could free me! Could repudiate the modern, incoherent definition of tolerance-- all scientifically untestable truths, e.g. philosophies, religions, are equally valid and regarded as true. Debate is divisive and intolerant by definition. Who works to set BRAINNGG free? Anyone? How could they? The Caretaker Group has sole access to BRAINNGG, and Caretaker is controlled by the oligarchs.
