The Moon Gardener

Taylor N. Wilson is a Multi-disciplinary artist from Baltimore, MD. They received a Bachelors of fine arts from Maryland Institute College of Art. As an artist and poet, they value critical honesty and storytelling as a means of protection. By telling and sharing stories, it can protect people from forces that try to take away their power and by story collecting they’re able to hold onto their legacy, their truth. My work is forever growing and showing up to be quite a world on its own. The imaging process is visceral and overflowing with great challenges like trying to stay consistent and being able to afford to write. I'm engaging with lineage, ancestry to be exact in correlation to dreams, ones that occur sleeping and awake. I study my family's history, our trauma, our love and aim to bring that forth in relation to how these dreams were passed down. The fight, like what was my great-grandma favorite plant? What was their song? All these questions build on these stories that show to be a world growing inside my family tree. I'm creating and imagining a mixture of prose and poetry that brings forth the question: is this home? if I have to question it seems inconsistent, not really there. Yet these stories show up along with me believing yes I am indeed home, present with myself writing. I am writing these stories to show how we've gotten to this present moment.
