Harrisburg, Did You Know? Cabarrus History, Book 2 covers a wide range of local history but includes many topics of interest to a wider audience. It contains the last 84 local history articles the author wrote for Harrisburg Horizons newspaper's "Did You Know?" column. In addition, the author's research notes on numerous topics of local interest are included in the book. Her notes were about subjects she did not get to write about for the newspaper when it abruptly ceased publication at the end of 2012. Topics covered in the book include an 1849 Meteorite, Harrisburg Improvement Company's accomplishments in the early 20th century to develop residential and industrial growth in the town, baseball, the work of the Piedmont Area Development Association in the 1960s and early 1970s which helped pave the way for the town's incorporation in 1973, earthquakes that have been felt in Harrisburg, McCachren's Store, Rocky River bridges built in the 1870s, the replacement of old wooden bridges with concrete bridges over area creeks, the North Carolina-based theatre company -- The Sauline Players, a tribute to George L.
