You can learn a lot from The Tea Pot! How do you teach young children to love the way their creator made them? How can you show them that their unique design helps them to serve others? Introduce them to The Tea Pot. A potter lovingly forms a new vessel and uses it to serve others. Tea Pot must learn to accept its unique features and pour into others unselfishly. Anyone who looks at their reflection with disappointment or compares themselves to others will identify with Tea Pot. The author's warm illustrations beautifully enhance this charming allegory about service and love. A valuable teaching tool for parents and educators, The Tea Pot is a simple yet profound story about giving away what "The Potter" creates through us. The Story of The Little Pot Continues. Children need help understanding that the fruit they bear is something God grows in them to give to others. We can wrongly think that we possess things like love, joy, or patience instead of it being something we give to others. In this sequel to "The Little Pot," the potter forms a new vessel called Tea Pot. As pride and selfishness grow instead of the fruit of the Spirit, Tea Pot and Little Pot discover that the only way to fulfill their creator's purpose is to give of themselves willingly. Children discover God's forgiveness and unconditional love through this allegory as the potter prunes Little Pot's dead leaves and washes Tea Pot clean. The pots become even more eager to bear fruit and serve others as their creator intended. "In this sweet story, children will learn that no matter what they look like on the outside, God created them for a unique purpose. With endearing illustrations and sprinkled with a bit of humor, Tea Pot will capture the hearts of readers young and old, and remind them how special they are." -Crystal Bowman - bestselling, award-winning author of more than 100 books for children including, Good Morning, God Loves You and The Compassion Storybook Bible. I wrote this books after the Little Pot Book became so successful. It occurred to me that knowing our purpose as vessels that a potter created to bear fruit is not all there is to the story. As I used the story to teach children their significance and the idea of growing the fruit of the Spirit, I saw their desire to BE loving, BE joyful, BE peaceful, BE patient, BE kind, BE good, BE faithful, BE gentle, and to BE self-controlled. While that is all well and good, I noticed that the fruit of the spirit is not something we possess but something we give to others. For example, we do not only have patience, we must show patience to others. In this story, the potter has made a new vessel. The new vessel, a Tea Pot, must also discover that it's purpose is to serve others. Little Pot deals with peer pressure and follows Tea Pot's lead. However, in the end both vessels discover that they need to be with the potter everyday so they can serve and fulfill the best purpose of all.
