About the Author Darren Doyle May 14, 2008 – February 15, 2025 Darren Doyle was a gifted young writer with a deep love for horror and psychological thrillers. At just 16 years old, his stories captured the imaginations of readers across platforms like Reddit and NoSleep, where his talent for creating atmosphere and emotional depth shone through every word. A passionate storyteller and avid reader, Darren drew inspiration from legendary authors such as Dathan Auerbach, Junji Ito, and Stephen King. Outside of writing, he found joy in reading, working out, boxing, and playing video games—especially Minecraft . Despite his young age, Darren displayed remarkable compassion and generosity. He regularly donated to organizations such as The Trevor Project, MissingKids.org, Tiltify Impact Fund, OXFAM, Helen Keller International, and The Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. His empathy extended beyond people—Darren loved animals and often brought home strays during cold weather or rescued fallen baby birds, always eager to help any creature in need. In January 2025, Darren proudly graduated high school at 16, having completed AP Psychology, and planned to begin college that fall to study Journalism, Literature, and Psychology. He dreamed of using his knowledge and creativity to inspire and help others. Halloween was Darren’s favorite holiday—he adored crafting elaborate costumes and filling every October with frightful fun. His playful spirit shone brightest one Halloween night, when he spent hours perfecting his costume just to give his mom a good-natured scare, followed immediately by laughter and reassurance. Darren lived with ADHD and other mental health challenges but never let them define him. Instead, he dedicated himself to uplifting others—offering encouragement, advice, and empathy to fellow writers and friends alike. Tragically, Darren passed away on February 15, 2025. Though he left us far too soon, his words, his kindness, and his creative legacy live on through the stories he shared and the lives he touched. This book is a testament to his love for horror and his deep compassion for others. It is our hope that Darren’s work will continue to reach those who need a reminder that they are not alone—and that even the darkest stories can shine a light.
