In this autobiographical account of his career in the computer industry, John takes you on his own personal career journey in IT, from his early days at university using computers that would have filled a living room, to the current day of facing the challenges that AI brings to his business and the world in general. He takes us on a journey covering his first career move into computer programming and systems analysis, through to IT management for a multi national company and then moving onto the set up of a small consultancy business which developed into an IT training company. His working life's journey is timelined alongside some of the major technology introductions in the world such as the world wide web, the use of end user computing through to the social media revolution and AI. The story is populated with humour, with a career lived out through over 40 years in an evolving IT world, which affects every part of our lives.
