God the Great Composer

Science seeks to explain how the natural world works through observation and testing, continually refining its models with new evidence. In Christian thought, God is the eternal Creator and source of moral reality; Jesus of Nazareth is believed to be the Messiah whose life, teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection reveal God’s saving purpose; and the Holy Spirit is God’s active presence, guiding, empowering, and transforming believers. The Bible’s story arc runs from creation and covenant (with Israel) through prophetic hope, to Jesus’s ministry and the birth of the early church, shaping Christian faith and practice. Together, these themes present science as a method for understanding nature and the Christian narrative as a theological account of God’s relationship with humanity, centered on Jesus and sustained by the Spirit, recorded across the historical witness of Scripture.
