Walking Through Life's Challenges: Yet Inadvertently Fulfilling a Mission

This is the inspiring story of Nellie Apolonio-Vernei, a simple provincial lass from the Philippines whose life strongly embodies the values of family, faith, and resilience. Nellie is the eldest of 10 children from Kalibo, Aklan who achieved her dream of becoming an educator while helping her siblings through school. Her successful career in the Philippines was marred by bureaucratic politics which led to trumped up cases filed against her as executive director of the national book agency in the late 1990s until 2001. All the cases were eventually dismissed by the courts. She availed of early retirement and ended up in America where she continued her career as an educator and then eventually, found the love of her life. She is now retired and happily resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
