The text is primarily taken from the Bible (World English Bible). Mary and Joseph must travel to Bethlehem to be counted in the census. But Bethlehem is so crowded there is no room for them in the inn. While they are in Bethlehem Mary gives birth to baby Jesus. That night, angels appear to shepherds who are watching their sheep. They are told Jesus the Messiah has been born in Bethlehem, and a host of angels praising God appear in the sky. The shepherds go to see Jesus, then tell everyone about Him. The book ends with questions, a song to reinforce the story, and a closing prayer. The book can be used as a read-aloud story for Pre-Kindergarten or early elementary school children.
