Fresh out of prison and back on the streets of Pasadena, California, after an eleven-year stay, Chester Tree refuses to be a servant on any level. He has a family and a new love in his life, but he wants the world, and he knows that money is the key to his dreams. While in a halfway house, Chester meets Tonette, and she introduces him to her live-in lover, Michelle. The three of them come up with a plan to rob the dope dealer Tonette is dating. There is never a doubt that Chester will kill; the question is, will the ladies kill, and how much money can they get from their mark? The one thing in life that Chester wants the most is for his sons never to have to go through the struggles he went through if he has to take from someone to guarantee that bright future, so be it. Every hustler should know that the rules went out when crack came in. The breed of man wasn’t the same, and Chester felt like a lot of suckers that wouldn’t have been in the game were doing well in it because all of the real hustlers were dead or in prison due to the dynamic effect of the war on drugs in the black community. With two down females by his side that possess the heart to play the street games with men, in the end, a lesson is taught, by way of the streets.
