The E-Athlete story is about a physically impaired teenager born to a family of elite athletes defying the odds to obtain a full athletic scholarship to play video games. This story follows the journey of Darius Freeman and his life navigating high school adolescence as a physically limb different athlete and gamer. Written by D'jeli Michael, the E-Athlete story was inspired by his youngest brother, Sivaun Scott, who is not only the muse for the E-Athlete story, but he's also the face of the E-Athlete brand. Darius's character is inspired by Sivaun and in the novel, the world of gaming has always been his escape—a place where he knew he could overcome any challenge, no matter how difficult the game. But in the physical world, Darius wasn’t so sure. Darius' life felt full of struggles he couldn’t shake, obstacles he couldn’t overcome, and people who would never truly understand him. And growing up in a family of competitive athletes, Darius faced those challenges daily. In this story, Darius finds his path, a path where he discovers his unique talents and gifts and learns how to use them to defy the odds. Along the way, he realizes that in order for others to truly understand him, he must first understand himself.
