Keva Iverson’s dream is to explore space, and visit alien worlds. She is in command of the first manned mission to Mars, in preparation for the establishment of a colony on the red planet. These preparations are interrupted by the arrival of a hyperspace-capable alien spacecraft in the solar system. Earth’s leaders decide to divert the mission to Mars, and have Keva and her crew rendezvous with the ship, and make first contact. The ship belongs to a group of aliens from the planet Tromar, and they need help to repair their ship, so they can return home. In exchange for their help, the Tromarians promise to share hyperspace drive technology with the humans. Keva is thrilled. With hyperspace technology, her dream could become a reality. But the aliens are keeping a secret that could derail all of Keva’s plans, and propel humanity into an interstellar conflict . . .
