One thousand years ago, the Ambians were exiled from the paradise of Gia. For a thousand years, they toiled and fought in a world where water was scarcer than blood with spear and shield. The Gians forgot the tales. They forgot the Ambians and forgot war itself. The Ambians did not. Their god would not allow it. Now, a thousand years after their exile, the gateway between worlds will be reopened. Ambia, the Flame Father, will have his chosen champion, a young man named Kasin Jishnu. A great honor, or so the clerics say. For Kasin, to be the Flame Father's chosen, to be Arjia, is worse than a hundred deaths. But the young man's will matters not to the Lord of Ash. Kasin must rebel against his destiny if he wishes to remain who he is. If not, than the pure flames of Ambia will consume him.
