MP3 CD Format FBI special agent Eleanor Peters eagerly gave up her hollow life to go deep undercover in a crime syndicate family. Work was the only thing Eleanor had until the operation blew up in her face. Then, she had nothing. Eight years later and hiding behind a new name, Kate Hall lives on the other side of the country from her past. Nicknamed Angel Kate, she provides a haven for weary Pacific Crest Trail hikers at Hostel Hall. The constant flow of strangers gives her all the company she needs. But when her bloodhound, Jenny, finds a backpack with designer drugs inside and Reese Carson, special agent with the National Park's Investigative Security Branch, shows up to investigate, Kate's solitary life is turned upside down and inside out. Convinced her deadly past has found her, Kate must decide if she should disappear again and protect the woman she loves or confide in Reese and fight a killer together. C. Jean Downer attributes her inspiration and creative process to living in a temperate rain forest near the eternal Pacific Ocean with her wife of twenty-three years, their two fabulous teenage daughters, two lazy dogs, and three chill cats. When she is not writing, she and the love of her life will be traveling to new destinations and checking them off their bucket list (okay, even when traveling she'll still be writing but mostly in her head). Born with music in her veins, Ann Sprinkle was classically trained in voice and received her master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As a professional opera singer, actor, and voice teacher, she worked many odd jobs and found herself in the academic world of medical education. She later became a speech language pathologist with a specialty in gender affirming voice and combined her love of music, voice, and education to help others. As a lifelong learner, she discovered audiobooks through her curious nature and love of science and true stories. A proud member of SAG-AFTRA with over fifty books recorded thus far, her favorite genres are nonfiction (self-improvement, growth, and development) comedies and mystery/thrillers, because the "truth is stranger than fiction!" In addition to audiobook narration, Ann is also the owner and founder of Viable Voice & Speech, LLC, where she provides voice and speech therapy services, including gender affirming voice training, professional speaking and coaching services, accent modification/English pronunciation services, and more. Additional information is available at viablevoice.com. When she's not working, she enjoys exploring trails with her scrappy hiking buddy (a rescue dog named Bear), yoga, learning about neuroscience and the mysteries of the world, and venturing to new places.
