Chasing Rabbits

Chasing Rabbits tells the story of Dallas Michaels and Mason Lancaster. Dallas is a character who always has the urge to run from things when he’s uncertain of the future. In the beginning of the book, he packs a bag and runs away from the uncertain monotony of his everyday life to go on a road trip across the country. He gets in his truck and just starts driving with no idea of where he wants to go, until he thinks of inviting Mason. Mason is his outgoing and energetic best friend, who Dallas grew up with. The two of them make sure that they are properly packed and they decide on a course of action, planning where they want to go. Dallas is satisfied with the way things go for the first two days, and then he starts panicking when old feelings arise. He pushes it all down and the two make it all the way into Kansas, seeing different sights and hopping from diner to diner. At this point, Dallas is contemplating and analyzing his feelings, and how to deal with them. How does he cope with his feelings without losing his best friend?
