Healing with Hope: A Mother’s Ruminations on Pregnancy Loss

Healing with Hope is a collection of poems written in the order in which my emotions came following the loss of my baby at 12 weeks. Grief is such a unique experience to each person, and the feelings that coincide with it can be hard to put into words. I hope that this book validates every parent suffering a loss, and helps reconcile any emotions that might be conflicting with one another. There is no correct way to feel, no right words to say, and nothing that can change or fix what happened. We have to learn to live with the grief we have been given because it is what is left of our loved ones, even those we did not get to meet face to face. Writing these poems have helped me to paint a picture of my daughter's life and also heal from the wounds her loss left physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It has been both my way of keeping her here and letting her go. Hope is the very feeling that stayed the same through every part of this experience for me, which is the middle name we gave her. I want to share that hope with anyone who opens this book after one of the worst griefs imaginable.
