"I made the mistake of thinking I had everything under control. I thought I was a "good girl," and God wouldn't let anything bad happen to me. I clung to all the things I didn't do: I didn't smoke, I didn't drink, I didn't do drugs. I wasn't openly rebellious. I went to church every time the doors were open, said my prayers, loved my family, but none of it was good enough. None of it mattered. I was blind to my own darkness. I was lost in my own pain." In my early years, I believed that if I strived to be the girl and woman God wanted me to be, everything would fall into place. But life is never that simple, and "good" is never good enough. The consequences of hidden sins and rebellion can leave you scrambling to put the broken pieces back together. But God, in his infinite mercy, turned my rebellion into redemption. This is my story.
