UHF male crimp connectors can be assembled with RG58/3D-FB/LMR195 coaxial cables or the same type of cables into a low-loss RF jumper. This connector uses a crimp design, where the metal sleeve forms an airtight contact with the shielding layer through pressing deformation, avoiding metal embrittlement caused by high welding temperatures and signal loss caused by poor welding. The PL259 male connector is made of copper gold-plated needle and copper nickel-plated body , which is sturdy. During installation, only the center conductor needs to be soldered. Use a crimping tool to connect the connector to the coaxial cable. 🔧 Tools & Materials Required

Crimping Tool: Hexagonal crimp die (must match connector size).

Wire Stripper: Precision stripper (avoid damaging the shield).

Other: Heat gun, solder (≥125°C), multimeter (for continuity check).

📏 Step-by-Step Crimping Procedure

1️⃣ Strip the Cable

Outer Jacket: Remove ~1.29 inches (ensure no shield damage).

Braided Shield: Remove ~0.97 inches.

Insulation: Strip ~ 0.65 inches to expose the center conductor.

2️⃣ Prepare Components

Slide heat-shrink tubing onto the cable (to cover the crimp later).

Place the ferrule collar (metal ring) and the PL-259 connector collar over the coaxial cable.

Install the main body of the PL-259 connector on the coaxial cable taking care to slide under the coaxial cable shield, and have the coaxial cable center conductor go into the center pin on the connector. 

Push the main body until the cable center conductor just reach the end of the connector center pin.

Slide the ferrule (metal ring) over the shield until it comes to a stop at the back of the main body. 

3️⃣Crimp the Outer Shield

Using the crimp tool crimp the ferrule collar  in place. 

4️⃣ Solder the Center Pin. Slide the PL-259 collar in place and screw it onto the main body. 

5️⃣ Seal the Connection

Slide the heat-shrink tubing over the crimped area and shrink it with a heat gun. Use a multimeter to check that there is no short circuit between the shield and the center conductor.
