In a continuation of the first book in the series - Football and Friends - Kevin finds himself unexpectedly as the starting quarterback for the Blue Raiders. As his football demands have increased, Kevin has a new challenge that has him attending two different homecoming dances and trying to keep up with his friends and school also. This book takes Kevin and his friends up to the last game of the regular season against their county arch-rival Bears and that game has a lot of impact on Kevin's future. Along the way, Kevin gets a new teammate and someone to mentor and bring along. Kevin's friends continue to develop their relationships and friendships with him and each other. Each game is partially narrated by the radio team of Thom and Curley who help bring each game to life.
