The Purple Orchid is an upscale nail salon in the southern states owned by Jinni, a Thai immigrant. It is a beautiful place full of exotic flowers and gossip and chatter. The women of the Purple Orchid have so many tales to tell. Whether it be: Jinni’s illicit love affair with a beautiful Chinese woman who is in the USA illegally which threatens to destroy both her wellbeing and her business. - Jinni’s betrayal of family ties to interfere in a close relative’s marriage breakup. - Amara dropping out of college and struggling to find a way in life. - Ellie, the English woman, producing provocative YouTube videos and gossiping online about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with dire consequences. - Janine helping an elderly granny and her friend to get fit and healthy. And at the heart of it all the Purple Orchid becomes a place where opinions are valued, and people can engage in stimulating conversations but most importantly it becomes a sanctuary from the outside world.
