Shimon Bejlin is a young Jewish musician, a refugee, who in 1946 lived in Tricase Porto, in one of the four "transit camps" in the province of Lecce in Italy. Suddenly he has the important task of leading his people due to the mysterious and violent death of the kibbutz leader. Start investigating to find the culprit. Nazi violence is in the background and in the soul of the protagonists. The adventurous police investigation takes place in the four refugee camps of Nardò, Tricase, S. Maria di Leuca and Santa Cesarea. The uses and customs of a dispersed people, who intend to return to the Promised Land, intertwine with those of the people who host them, between solidarity and opposition.
