If you had the means to curse someone, would you? Would you curse the person who stole your gold bracelet? Would you curse the person who stole your love? Or would it have to be deeper than that? Perhaps you would be so angry as to wish the worst upon the person responsible for the death of someone in your family. Your first instinct would probably be to say “no,” but we’re all human. And sometimes, our emotions get the best of us, even if it’s just for a second. In the heart of Honolulu, there is a group of people who offer a unique service. They will cast a curse upon your enemy on your behalf. They don’t ask for money, accepting whatever you can give, but you have to have a good reason. As part of this mysterious group, Victoria wants nothing more than for her son to grow up as a normal kid, but when the office takes notice of Boy’s natural abilities, she has no choice but to accept their orders. When an old nemesis emerges and attempts to assassinate her son, Victoria tries to take matters into her own hands leaving Boy in the hands of the office and at the mercy of fate. This is a story about ‘ohana ( family ). It’s about kuleana ( responsibility ) and ka hana ku pono ( doing the right thing ). It’s about Hansen “Boy” Napualawa and the history and tragedy that brought him to where he is today. This is KAHUNA.
