Connie first heard this ghost story from her grandpa, and then later from her dad. While Connie’s dad told many stories, "The Man with the Golden Arm" ghost story was her favorite. Even though Connie knew the climactic ending, each time her dad told the story, shouting, “I’ve got you!” she would jump and let out a scream, saying, “That’s not true; I wasn’t scared.” Afterwards, Connie remembers her dad teasingly asking, “Okay, Connie, but didn’t I just see you jump?” Then, Connie and her siblings would sit laughing while begging for her dad to tell them more stories. Connie’s dad passed away in 2015, but his storytelling lives on in her heart and has finally found its way from Connie’s thoughts to paper.
