In a unique blend of children’s book and parenting guide, this interactive picture book with accompanying caregiver guide and mental health skill glossary are meant to support a collaborative process between kids and caregivers in working together to help decrease the frustration that comes with difficult behaviors. A perfect addition to the bedtime routine, caregivers learn alongside their children as Timmy the dog navigates his ADHD and the difficult choices kids face every day. Timmy the German Shepherd is a typical 7-year-old pup. He likes frisbee, video games, and hanging out with his friends. The only problem? Timmy’s behaviors (i.e. attention span and frustration) keep getting him in trouble. He’s trying his best to fit in, sit still, and “be good” but he’s STILL getting in trouble with his teachers, his parents, and even his older brother calls him annoying. He feels overwhelmed and helpless and knows that his parents do too. If Timmy can’t figure out ways to cope with his big feelings he might continue to get in trouble, and even worse, feel left out and frustrated at school and at home. Is Timmy in control of his behaviors? Can he make different choices? How can his grownups help him?
