Nanee...Why?

Young, curious minds always ask 'Why?'. Though, when I was a youngster, asking why when told to complete a chore was NEVER an option. In those times, the answer was instinctively, "Because I said so!". At the time, the response seemed injudicious and I even aspired to respond to my own children differently. Needless to say, the fruit didn't fall too far from the tree. Sure enough, I responded to my children with, "Because I said so!". It wasn't until Londyn Olivia was born that my mindset changed. She was precocious and inquisitive, so I begin to research why children ask "why?". I found that asking questions can help support children's cognitive development in critical thinking and problem-solving skills and provide answers to build on children's knowledge base. Most of all, those why questions can create some memorable moments that can be cherished for a lifetime. I pray this book will bring some smiles, head nods, and laughter as parents and grandparents alike reminisce about fond, memorable 'why' moments.
