But if water drain speed is critical for you, you can also use this as a conventional pop-up stopper by taking out the plastic bucket. Plastic bottom is removable and can be reattached again if needed. If you are using it with the plastic bucket, it is important to clean the basket regularly for the trapped/collected items.

How to know if this sink drain strainer fits into my bathroom sink?
Please measure the diameter of your bathroom sink’s drain hole. If the diameter is greater than 1.063" (27mm) and smaller than 1.614" (41mm) in diameter, then this strainer is compatible to your sink. If the your bathroom sink’s drain hole diameter is between 1.063” (27mm) to 1.299” (33mm) use the smaller silicon gasket provided; if the diameter is between 1.3” (33mm) to 1.614” (41mm) use the larger silicon gasket provided.

To determine which gasket is suitable for your sink drain hole without measuring the drain hole diameter, please check the product video in the listing from 1.1 minutes to the end. It is important that this stopper/strainer is installed correctly in the sink with the correct gasket to make sure all the water drains out and also there is no leakage.

How to clean the collected hairs and other items in the strainer’s bucket?
Take out the strainer from the sink. Remove the small plastic bucket (this is removable) and clean the bucket. Affix the bucket back to the strainer and install the strainer/stopper back into the sink’s drain hole.
It is IMPORTANT that you clean the plastic bucket regularly for the accumulated hairs and other stuff so all the water drains out smoothly from the sink.

If you feel water drains slower than you are used to, you can also use this stopper/strainer without the bottom plastic bucket, which will significantly increase the drain speed.
