Yes, all LED lights consume some power through heat! We have installed a wide aluminum backshell on our 18V max led work light to reduce weight, increase heat dissipation efficiency, and ensure the life of the wicks.

Does this light features with battery protection?
Cordless 18V battery light build-in low voltage protection, and our 18V work light will automatically turn off when the voltage is below 15V. Note: It is recommended to remove the battery when the work light is not in use for a long time.
