A "noiseless" stepper motor (STM focus motor) is used to drive the autofocus unit, providing fast, nearly silent and accurate autofocus performance, as well as full-time manual focus control. The autofocus lens has an opening range from F1.4 to F16, uses a 9-blade aperture, has a minimum focal length of 15.75 inches (40 cm) (15.75 inches), and utilizes "HD Nano Multi-Layer Coating, which contributes to significant depth-of-field control and also facilitates work in low-light conditions.
