This book was written as both a textbook for an introductory crisis management course, and as a user-friendly resource for the manager who is new to the field.  In this book, you will acquire the knowledge you need to manage organizational crises effectively and strategically. A four-stage crisis management framework is offered: Landscape Survey: Identifying potential crisis vulnerabilities - Strategic Planning: Organizing the crisis management team and writing the plan - Crisis Management: Addressing the crisis when it occurs - Organizational Learning: Applying lessons from crises so they will be prevented or mitigated in the future.  Each chapter includes a case study of an actual crisis event. Discussion questions and references are included.
