Autumn Matthews is readying herself for a night out with her new love interest only to find him in the arms of someone else when she arrives. She has recently driven across country to her childhood home of Tincup, Wyoming on an assignment to photograph the majesty and madness of the upcoming total solar eclipse. Her real adventure begins on her two-week work assignment when she’s asked to help with Tincup’s Totality Festival and her path crosses with an unexpected man from her past, her deceased brother’s best friend, rancher and brew-pub owner Hayden Murcray. Autumn holds a long-standing grudge against Hayden, blaming him for her brother’s passing, and is focused on keeping him at a distance and staying professional. However, as she works with Hayden, she sees how much he has changed and finds herself drawn to his authenticity. The embers of their romance spark upon accepting a motorcycle ride to a hot springs and an invitation to a screening of Grease , but she quickly turns away from him when she observes him with another woman, not giving him a chance to explain. When Hayden confronts her and confesses his own feelings for her, she realizes that she’s afraid of how he’s making her feel. As the sun and moon move on their “paths to totality,” so too do the lovers, and Autumn will have a decision to make.
