Trouble In Shadow: Book One of Dragon Swan Saga

Earth has become crowded because of lengthened lifespans. A colony is sent off to Cygnus Draconis II to relieve the population pressure and spread humanity to insure its survival. Dragon Swan seems idyllic, until a piece of dwarf star material approaches on a very long elliptical orbit bringing with it aggression for some colonists. After learning to cope with this problem, the dwarf star piece, now named Trouble, passes between Dragon Swan and her twin moon, Shadow. A whole new set of problems crops up, including a native animal that comes out of the ocean and looks like a crocodile, only bigger! And they realize that this isn't the only new event that Trouble has brought. It seems that some of the animals they brought with them are beginning to speak. Whether this is good or not is a matter of some controversy.
