this Vietnamese horse race chess game (cờ cá ngựa) made of hard plastic for the 2 pieces of dices and 16 pieces of horse, each horse measure around 1 inch diameter x 2.5 inch tall, and the satin glossy paper mat measure around 19 inch x 19 inch. how to set up and play game: set up: 1. board: a square board with four colored paths (red, blue, yellow, green) leading to a central finish area. 2. pieces: each player chooses a color and gets four horses. 3. dice: use two 6-sided dice. objective: be the first player to get all four of your horses into their designated finish positions ( spots 3,4,5,6 in the finish stable). game play: 1. starting: players roll dice to see who goes first (highest total, or specific pairs). turns proceed counter-clockwise. 2. launching horses (getting out): a. with 2 dice: roll doubles (e.g., 2-2, 5-5) or a 1 & 6 pair to bring a horse out from the base into the starting square. b. with 1 dice (optional rule): roll a 1 or 6 to get a horse out. 3. moving horses: a. use the sum of the dice to move your horse forward along the track. b. doubles/1&6: earb ab extra turn; you can use one dice to move or the sum, and still get a bonus move in the stable if applicable. c. blocked path: you cannot move past another horse (yours or an opponent's). 4.Kicking opponents (knocking): if you land exactly on a spot occupied by an opponent's horse, you "kick" it back to its starting base. 5. entering the finish (stable): a. once a horse reaches the finish area, you must roll the exact number (or use the total of dice, depending on rules) to get it into the final numbered spots (e.g., a 6 to get into spot 6). b. a horse can only increase its finish position by rolling the corresponding number or any double number (e.g., 2-2, 6-6). winning: the first player to get all four of their horses into the highest finish positions (3,4,5,6) wins the game.
