Do Not Look Back After God Has Set You Free

Anne L. Johnson was born in 1947, in Marianna, Arkansas, where she loved the country living at the time. Anne has accomplished many things in her life that made her into the woman she is today. In the late sixties, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she went to school to earn herself a G.E.D., and later as a young adult, she attended college to study counseling. “I love people. I love talking to people. I love doing things for people. I love to cook, read, and talk about God.” She has traveled to multiple states in the U.S. country to sing and bring revivals, while preaching the word of God. She has also had a street renamed in honor of her former Bishop: “I’ve had Emmet Street, in Omaha, Nebraska, renamed to include Bishop Vernon Richardson’s name alongside it.” Throughout her life and experiences, she has always loved to write. In 1998, she went on to publish her first book, From the Rough Side of the Mountain to the Top of the Mountain . As a young girl, Anne would often pick up a pencil or pen and begin to write, anywhere and on any-thing. Anne recalls visiting her aunt, Ruthie, who would tell her, “Get that paper, don’t write on my phone book.” As time went on, she married, raised a family, and continued writing… on pictures, books, the Bible, and whatever else she could find. For Anne, writing was a form of self-expression as well as a therapy, because it served as an enjoyable escape from the heavy burdens that were on her mind. “This book that I’m publishing now is about my life, and how God has stood by my side all these years. At this time, I am an Evangelist and I love the word of God.” “God has always been good to me. I have always wanted to write and God has proven Himself to me to accomplish these things.” Anne is a daughter, a sister, a mother and great-grandmother, a teacher, a writer, an author, an Evangelist, a singer, a survivor, and a beautiful, God-loving woman.
