God speaks to us constantly through our senses in ordinary things on the most ordinary of days. It is when we begin to pay attention that it becomes extraordinary. He is in the whisper of the wind, the kiss of the sun on your skin, the touch of a loved one’s hand, the sight of a glorious sunrise, the sound of laughter or the taste of something wonderful. He created our senses to acknowledge His gifts. Scripture says that IN Him ALL things were created. Everything He created is His gift to us, painted on the canvas of love by our Creator. All we have to do is open our spiritual eyes. His creation surrounds us, testifying of His existence, whether we acknowledge it or not. His Word says there is nowhere we can go to escape His presence. We may not perceive it in our total distraction and absorption in the stories of our lives, but it is always there nevertheless, in every season, every moment. All too soon the present, with all its treasured moments, will be the past. The only way to find still waters in this endlessly flowing river of life is to discover them in the center of it.
