13/16” x 13/16”, 21mm x 21mm Made in the US Handcast from solid, lead free pewter in our own studio - Copper Dipped Individually packaged on our signature presentation cards, our pins arrive ready for gift giving! Qty: 1 - $10.95 per pin The compass rose has appeared on charts and maps since the 1300’s when the portolan charts first made their appearance. The term “rose” comes from the figure’s compass points resembling the petals of the well-known flower. Naming them all off perfectly was known as “boxing the compass”. Our compass rose is hand cast in solid, lead-free pewter and then dipped in copper. All compass pins have a secure, US made, military style butterfly clasp to keep your pin secure.
