That’s All She Wrote! Is a collection of reflections and remembrances never intended for publication. Written at various times in her life, these observations, testimonies, laments and challenges were the way one woman – Carol Adams – processed her life experiences and the world around her. This lyrical expose’ chronicles her journey in a manner that is intensely personal and introspective. Her life’s work around issues of race and community take centerstage, as she delves into the morass of societal and cultural contradictions that confound Black life in America. There are also revelatory notes on relationships and loss. The work is framed by commentary from noted poet, Useni Eugene Perkins, and spoken word artist, Khari B, providing a cross-generational lens that contextualizes its significance and impact. Ultimately, we are invited along as Adams creatively navigates from her birthplace in Kentucky through her travels in Africa and the Diaspora and it’s a trip work taking!
