The battery-operated cordless engraving tool uses 2 AA (1.5V) batteries (not included). The compact, pen-like design allows you to hold the engraver as you would hold a pencil, making for smooth progress. The operation switch is on the side of the tool, making it easy to activate. To use, simply touch the bit to the item to be engraved. A suggested tip is to practice on inexpensive material to get a feel for it before attempting to engrave finished jewelry items.

All of these can be used for carving as well and are suitable for use on metal, glass, stone, wood and plastic surfaces. Tip installation in very easy. Hold down the shaft lock button and loosen the collet. Insert the new tip and tighten the collet. Release the shaft lock button. Repeat this any time you need to change the tip.
