Timmy Doesn't Tie His Shoes

This is the heartwarming story of a boy named Timmy. Every morning Timmy has trouble putting on his shoes. Capturing the everyday struggle parents often face when it comes to getting out the door on time, we see Timmy and his mom at odds over the VERY common "just put your shoes on!" battle. As we continue through the story we see that Timmy is not being intentionally lazy or defiant, nor does not want to be difficult in the morning, but he is struggling with completing the task. Many children who struggle with executive functioning skills, like Timmy, have trouble with completing daily tasks and often do not understand why. Timmy's mother begins to recognize this and is able to come up with strategies that work WITH her son to teach him the necessary skill (putting on shoes) in a new way.
