For the Love of Emmaline tells the story of a young widow named Emmaline who goes to Ohio to heal from her grief. While there, she is encouraged to marry a nice Amish man she meets in the community. She was on track to consider this possibility until a young Englishman has an accident in Amish country. As a result of the accident, he loses his memory and then becomes deeply immersed in the Amish community. He is introduced to their religion and a much different way of life. Emmaline eventually falls in love with him. The story follows both their lives and the love he has for Emmaline which brings huge obstacles and proves to change them both forever.
