What are Munchables?

The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists recommends Munchables for their ability to “replace inappropriate chewing behavior and to provide potential regulating effects for the sensory system - reducing fidgeting and promoting attention and focus.” (2021 Product Recognition Report)

Munchables chew necklaces, bracelets, zipper pulls and pencil toppers act not only as stylish chewies, but also as focal points that can help kids narrow their focus and filter out excess sensory information. This can help children self-regulate and encourage calm and focus. Munchables are especially beneficial for children with ADHD, anxiety, autism or sensory processing disorder. There is a great deal of research that shows that oral sensory aides can provide a calming, organizing, and focusing response (Scheerer, 1992).
