Racism in America Alive and Growing

America, Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream. In 1963, Dr. King’s dream for his four children was one day they would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. America, it’s been 57 years, when will Dr. King’s dream finally become a reality? I often wonder if Dr. King was alive today what would he think about America as it is now? I often wonder what Dr. King think about America today after sacrificing his life for a better America for people of all colors, races, and religions. I often wonder if he thinks the dream he had for his children will never come true. I often wonder if he would feel all of his marching and peaceful protesting was for nothing. We need to stand for something. It shouldn't only happen when White police officers shoot or kill a Black man or woman. It shouldn't just happen when two White men attacked and shot to kill a Black man for jogging in a different neighborhood, (Ahmaud Arbery) or when a White man shoots and kills a young Black teenager coming from the corner store, (Trayvon Martin?) We need to stand up for our rights to exist as Black people. When are we going to stand up for our right to sleep, watch TV, and play video games in our own homes without the fear of being shot by a White police officers, (Atatiana Jefferson) (Breonna Taylor) and (Botham Jean?) America, if Black people are not safe from police shootings in our own homes; then where can we be safe?
