Juan Sánchez Lamouth (1929-1968) fue un poeta maldito dominicano. Vivió menos de 40 años y los vivió muy intensamente. Tempranamente asumió su condición negra de manera crítica, frente a los órdenes excluyentes de la Era de Trujillo. Fue de los primeros y más incisivos lectores de Whitman, Eliot y Vallejo, produciendo una vasta y sensible obra en apenas quince años, finalmente recogida en este volumen de "Poesía completa".
