FUNCTION - This 1/4" Barb x 1/4" NPT brass fitting is an adapter for connecting a hose to a male threaded pipe. Hose barb on one end and male NPT threads on the other. DURABLE - As a solid and sturdy material, brass is perfect for hose systems as it can withstand long periods of wear and tear. THREAD - High quality and deep threads allow the fittings to bite better, not easy to slip. MEDIUM - This pipe fitting can apply to water, air, gas, oil and fuel. WARNING - This product can expose you to chemicals including lead(~2.85%), which is not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories. These 1/4" Barb x 1/4" NPT male pipe fittings are made of brass, Which is considered more durable for heavy-duty use. Threads used on these nipples are NPT.
A hose barb fitting connects hose to pipes, typically has a male-threaded end which mates with female threads. The other end of the fitting is a barbed tube, which is inserted into a hose. You could add an adjustable hose clamp to keep the hose from slipping off the barbed tube.
