Hex bolts are the most common construction fastener having a hex head that can be secured with a socket or wrench and mated with a nut or another internally threaded item. Hex heads have 6 sides and a wide bearing surface with a high tensile and can be turned with a socket or a wrench. External hex drives can be turned with an adjustable wrench, combination wrench and 6- or 12-point sockets and offers high torque transfer. The vast majority of stainless steel fasteners are produced with metals from the austenitic family.
