The sensor is compact and discreet. It simply hooks up to your router and counts mobile devices, even if they aren’t connected to your Wi-Fi network. Party Squasher is quick to install and easy to use:
1. Download the mobile app
2. Scan the QR code on the device to link it to your phone
3. Choose small, medium, or large house
4. Set the alert threshold (# of mobile devices detected)
5. Choose to receive either SMS or email alerts.

Party Squasher is ideal for detached homes, but less well-suited to apartments where it may “see” phones in neighbors’ homes. One Party Squasher sensor can accurately count hundreds of mobile devices by passively listening for their WiFi “probes” (or “signals”). Occupancy accuracy at the low end of the range is typically +/- three devices due to the occasional reception of high-powered distant mobile phones. Party Squasher is not a good solution to know if 2, rather than 3, people are in your house, but will accurately report if there are 20 rather than 10 people.

In case of a party, you will see a spike in the occupancy count and you’ll receive a text message or email, so you can decide what to do next. Yes, it is that simple.
