18 AWG solid center conductor, HDPE dielectric; PVC jacket, rated CMR, allowing installation in walls and risers Shielding is a 95% coverage tinned copper braid laid over a 100% coverage foil layer, for high shield effectiveness at all frequencies Canare BNCs provide excellent impedance stability from tip to tip; larger knurled surface area makes them easier to insert and remove Assembled using precision Swiss stripping and crimping machines; 3-ton presses ensure a perfect crimp every time. Blue Jeans Cable’s HD/3G/6G 18 AWG (RG-6 type) SDI cables are made using CMR-rated, SMPTE compliant cable stock, suitable for runs of up to 100 meters at 6G, or even longer at lower data rates. We use high quality cable stock from the US or Japan (at this time, either Belden or Canare), with Canare BNC connectors. The Canare BNC, made in Japan, increases the cost of the assembly a bit as compared to the Chinese BNCs commonly seen on SDI cables, but it is, in our view, the best BNC on the market – the manufacturing consistency is superb, the return loss characteristics likewise, and the larger and more deeply knurled grip surface makes these BNCS easier to insert and remove than those cheaper alternatives.
