With the first pick in the 2004 Nba Draft, the Orlando Magic selected Dwight Howard from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. Howard's Nba debut on November 3 against the Bucks in the season opener was a sign of things to come. His immediate impact was felt, contributing 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks as the Magic narrowly defeated the Bucks by one point, 93 - 92. The 6'10" rookie proved his potential and talent in his first year, finishing the season with averages of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
