Blak in the Day

My poetry style tends to use a “call and response” phrasing in several poems, so the reader can mentally or verbally participate in the poem. This takes the reader deeper into the thoughts of the poet. I also have attached quotations or scripture to each poem, as I searched for and reflected on the thoughts of others regarding the topic. Some poems reflect my social justice concerns, personal reflections, observations of time, place and persons, and humor. Laughter is also healing, it’s necessary to have balance. Some poems are very short and others lengthy. It’s my hope it encourages you to write a poem, just because you can! My prayer is that these poems will instill reflection and hope in your own lives. You will probably read some to which you can relate; if not, reflect about someone else’s life and share to encourage. Vivianne A.
