Enlightenment is not only attainable, it is the natural progression of consciousness. This collection of poetry is meaningful and magical, just like the world it comes from. The words contained here, will awaken those on the cusp of sleep. Read the verse aloud, it will change you if you allow it to. This collection of poetry was written long before I ever put pen to paper. I was being called to action by forces beyond my control. Emotions that felt like hot liquid were pouring out of my heart. Shivers that ran all down my spinal column, would awaken me from deep slumber. Words wiser than any I have ever known, were beginning to populate my mind. I was attempting to live my life as a blue collar worker, but my fate is more mysterious than I ever imagined. I care not for the follies of humankind. I care not for the inadequacies of the flesh. I am only interested in the potential of the individual. I see greatness in the faces of all the people I meet. I see warriors, and heroes who brave a dying world. I care for their ascent, for whatever bliss I feel, is hollow if it is not shared and mirrored in the eyes of my brothers and sisters. These poems are a reflection of my soul, and of the struggle to evolve into higher planes of life. The verses I have written have already transmuted me, I wish they do the same for you. Daniel Antonio Chavez has been a Poet since the age of five. Filling up notebooks and scrawling metaphors on the margins of papers, he has written poetry for over two decades. Born on the last year of the 1980's in Hollywood, California he has spent his life gaining and distilling the wisdom of old. Daniel was part of the Toyon Literary Magazine while an English Major at Humboldt State University. He is a Seer of beauty and a Seeker of universal truths. He resides between the spiritual and material worlds. He is a child of fire, and a man of the earth. Daniel is keenly aware of the living power within all beings.
